Big Eyed Blues Festival: The Tour

About the Festival

The Big Eyed Blues Festival is the only Blues festival in the ever growing, diverse borough of Brooklyn.

Founded in 2006 by Brooklyn Blues singer Beareather Reddy in answer to the lack of Blues venues in the city, the Big Eyed Blues Festival is aimed at showcasing talented Blues singers and providing a venue where these artists can be seen and heard.

Since then, 12 Big Eyed Blues Festivals have been held all over Brooklyn, featuring national and international artists such as Bobby Rush, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Guy Davis, The Alexis P. Suter Band, The Ebony Hillbillies, Solomon Hicks, Jerron “Blindboy” Paxton, Beareather & The Brown Liquor Sounds, the Big Eyed Blues Youth Ensemble, Keith “The Captain” Gamble, Bill Sims Jr., Chaney Sims, Valerie June, The Piedmont Blues duo Valerie and Benedict Turner, Regina Bonelli, SaRon Crenshaw, Ray Schinnery Band, The Michael Hill blues Mob, Vinnie Knight, B.b. Queen and others.

The festival is produced by the Brooklyn Blues Society, a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, whose mission is to preserve Blues music and culture by introducing this American art form to underserved youth and the community, through performances, workshops and lectures.

The Tour

This will be a Blues experience you don’t want to miss!  Recreating the experience of the “Command Performance” evening of the 2022 Big Eyed Blues Festival, the lineup includes the talented singer/songwriter and guitarist Clarence Spady, whose musical style combines blues, jazz, funk, latin, rock and more than anything, music that comes from his heart;  Beareather & The Brown Liquor Sounds, whose musical style seems as if it comes from her inner soul; The Antoinette Montague Experience, a talented crowd pleaser, will take you on a musical and historical journey, where you will be disappointed that your journey has ended; and Brooklyn’s own soul/blues singer, The Alexis P. Suter Band, will end the evening with her booming, earthshaking vocals and the band’s dynamic, electrifying sounds and rhythms.
